About this Product

Take on a new steam-hauled challenge in Train Sim World 3, tackle the Cornish countryside with regulator at full blast, race through forestry and power to the end of the line at Penzance in Rivet Games’ West Cornwall Steam Railtour Add-On!

Ever since the days of the steam era ended, enthusiasts have kept the fire alive through the hard efforts of preservation. The LMS Jubilee Class is no exception, with a quartet of kettles still surviving to this day in various conditions.

One such condition is “mainline certified”, granting the workhorses of yesteryear the chance to freely roam once again on the UK national rail network. To facilitate this, mainline certified steam locomotives, including 45596 and 45690 Jubilees, are retrofitted with modern safety equipment.

Alongside the preserved Jubilee Class, proudly wearing BR Maroon and BR Black liveries, is a suite of equally preserved Mk1 coaches in both Maroon and Blood & Custard liveries, offering a long-lost view out the window to serve both nostalgic and enthusiastic tastes.

The West Cornwall Steam Railtour Add-On brings a series of scenarios and services to the challenging Penzance – St Austell route. Experience the Jubilee Class away from the 1950s, as it is in more recent years, thanks to preservation. Re-kindle holiday memories with the Christmas train, dressed in festive fairy lights! With Scenario Planner, take the steam railtour action to whichever route you like.

Please Note: For the full experience, we recommend you own Train Sim World®: West Cornwall Local: Penzance – St Austell & St Ives which is available as a separate purchase.

Island Line 2022: Class 484:

Experience a unique marvel of rail innovation, an Underground veteran turned Solent explorer. Modern-day Isle of Wight duties await with Rivet Games’ Island Line 2022: BR Class 484 for Train Sim World 2!

Please note: Train Sim World 2: Isle of Wight is NOT required to play this add-on. The Island Line 2022: BR Class 484 EMU comes with its own, modernised version of the route.

For the past 50 years, the Island Line, which traverses the Isle of Wight from the water-lapped Ryde Pier south to Shanklin, has been uniquely operated by otherwise life-expired London Underground tube stock. 1967 saw the introduction of the Standard Stock, given new life as the Class 485 and 486, which were then replaced in 1989 with the Class 483, itself formed from old 1938 Stock. Being over 80 years old though, the 483s were in dire need of a replacement.

The tradition of using ex-Underground stock would continue, but in a way that would rock the boat for the line as it was. An order for 5 Vivarail D-Trains, rebuilt and modernised vehicles from the District Line D78 Stock, was placed. Being sub-surface trains, this saw the line overhauled to accommodate the new, taller fleet. Platforms were rebuilt, track was altered, new signalling was installed.

Following months of upgrades and testing, the new BR Class 484 entered service in November 2021. These 2-car EMUs retain their Underground soul, but are also kitted out with modern cabs, revised interiors, digital destination displays, and new headlights.

In Train Sim World 2, take control of this modern-classic along an upgraded Isle of Wight, across a series of engaging scenarios and an all-day timetable. Ride to Ryde and Shuttle to Shanklin, a new set of challenges await with Rivet Games’ Island Line 2022: BR Class 484!

Key Features

  • Island Line BR Class 484 EMU
  • Highly detailed, feature-rich, driving cabs with accurate true-to-life performance and handling
  • Modernised 2022 Isle of Wight route with new signalling, trackwork and station platforms
  • Journey Mode featuring lots of activities for you to master
  • Accessible Training Modules and 5 detailed and engaging scenarios
  • 24-hour Timetable
  • A selection of Route Tasks to complete
  • Livery Designer, Scenario Planner and Creators Club compatible

“One of the best DLCs so far! I like the little added features such as the need to unlock the cab doors, the lock on the doors between the carriages etc. The scenarios are unexpectedly satisfying and interactive, compared to some other routes. There are still some issues and bugs like falling into holes at the pier station, passengers glitching into structures or falling on the track, but overall this is a solid DLC and I can only recommend it.

hyzwar

“Massive improvement over the last IOW route, guard panel is a great inclusion too!

About this Product

Experience the rolling hills and picturesque countryside of the “Great Western”, aboard classic British diesel traction, with Rivet Games’ West Cornwall Local: Penzance – St Austell & St Ives route. Step back into the 1990s and relive this line in the pre-BR privatisation era.

The Cornish Main Line has long been the backbone for Cornwall. Opened in 1867, the line weaves its way through the landscape linking Cornwall to the rest of the country. Brunel originally built the line to his unique 7ft “broad gauge”, but in 1892 the route was converted to standard gauge. For those areas not reached by the main line, branches sprawl out to serve local communities, such as the St Ives Bay Line, which also sees tourist traffic – holidaymakers keen to make a coastal getaway.

It’s your job to take charge of the various services on this scenic route; carry passengers through the Cornish Countryside on local Regional Railways services and shuttle to and fro along the St Ives branch. Alternatively, take on the challenge of freight over the hills.

Be in control of the recognisable BR Class 150/2, a staple of any rural regional line in England, resplendent in Regional Railways livery. Alternatively, experience more classic motive power in the form of the BR Class 37/5, sporting Railfreight Grey livery, and accompanied by YCV ‘Turbot’ and YGB ‘Seacow’ wagons.

Choose how you want to play; drive trains, ride around as a passenger, complete the route tasks, or simply pick a vantage point and watch the action unfold. Create your own experiences with the Scenario Planner and Livery Designer. Whatever you choose to do, there’s lots to see and experience in Train Sim World 2: West Cornwall Local.

“I think this route is fantastic! Rivet Games is definitely improving with each new route release, and I must say I am very impressed with this one. The picturesque countryside of Cornwall is very much well depicted, and this is just a gorgeous coastal route. I highly, highly recommend this route to anyone who likes beautiful scenic routes.”

rafaelmunozgonzalez0

“Lovely route. Very, very good looking and pleasant to drive on. Owning the Transpennine and its freight pack also adds up to it as it expands the route’s roster in the service mode. The included locomotives are good enough to me, although some say the DMU doesn’t have satisfying sounds to somebody who knows how it should sound like.
The only flaws I can think of with this route so far is that the cathedral in Truro is just a mock up made out of default small churches bunched together aaaand that there is no Falmouth branch that I kinda got close and personal with in classic TS.
Also I wish the class 52 was present in the service mode, and maybe class 31 and 20. And that Class 150 could appear on the Tees Valley as I think the time frame of both routes is close enough to justify it.”

RHaenJarr

“Scenery varies from good (coastal areas around Penzance) to very mediocre (Truro). Sounds aren’t as catastrophically bad as many are making them out to be, the revving isn’t right but you can tell it’s a Sprinter. Mostly recommending this though for the gameplay, it’s good to be out of third rail territory and the 150 and 37 are fun to drive, and a good amount of variety is added by the NTP layer (including pilot services with the 08).

I would really like to see an Intercity Swallow pack for this route adding time appropriate Valenta HST, 47, and Mk.2Fs.”

Mikeboy

“Great route, really fantastic. Class 150 sounds are excellent as is the overall route modelling.
Highly recommended!
No Bugs for me ,runs perfect.”

mickmike2

“Absolute awesome route. Graphics are nice. enjoy playing it very much.”

Experience a true London veteran that harkens back to the Art Deco era, a unit that defined Underground commuting for generations. Mind the gap, as Rivet Games’ London Underground 1938 Stock has arrived in Train Sim World 2 for yesteryear Bakerloo Line operations!

In 1935, plans were drawn up for modernising public transport throughout London, including new generations of trams, buses, and new rolling stock for London’s deep level Underground lines to support their under-construction extensions. The result for the latter was the 1938 Stock, a revolutionary new design at the time, with all the traction equipment installed under the train floor, instead of behind the driver’s cab, expanding capacity on every service.

The 1938 Stock would go onto having a long-lasting career, working on the Northern, Piccadilly and Central Lines, and of course the Bakerloo Line, which they operated on until the 1980s. As if this wasn’t a prestigious life enough as is, a handful of sets would be shortened to 2 cars, adapted for third rail capability and painted in the striking Network SouthEast livery for use on the Isle of Wight as the Class 483, where they were used until January 2021, making them the oldest working passenger rolling stock in the country. Combine all this with the fact that the 1938 Stock’s revolutionary design would inspire future stock throughout the decades, it earned itself an unshakeable legacy and an enthusiastic following.

From the cosy lightbulb-lit interior to the old school driving controls, the London Underground 1938 Stock is an all-around classic and a pleasure to be aboard, and now thanks to Rivet Games, you can experience it on the Bakerloo Line in Train Sim World 2!

I really like it and on my system, it’s by far the smoothest running route in the whole franchise. I’d rather be subjected to electric shocks than all that stuttering, which is almost completely absent from this route (on my modest hardware).

~ mjack35

Great short route, lots of detail, and the Class 483 is pure train-driving joy! Stations and running rail are well-detailed, as are the houses and environment which abut the platforms. As long as one understands that the route is short (~8.5 miles long), and measures expectations accordingly, this is a fantastic and fun route to purchase.

The only feedback that I have to offer is the quality of the water. The textures / appearance is very redundant, and appears very mechanical when looking out toward the horizon. Unfortunately, this significantly detracts from one of the best parts of the route – the Pier Head and Pier running section.

Again, great short route – its easy to pick up and complete a route any time of day. Keep up the great work – would love to see more routes like the Island Line!

~ csharrett89

Pros:
1. 483 model is great, a lot better than the TS one. 2. You can press a few buttons on the guard panel of the 483 like lights and doors. 3. Route scenery is pretty nice. 4. NSE livery on 483 is good. 5. Stations look pretty good although a bit clean. 6. The collectibles are good and a few locations are cool. 7. Being a small route FPS is great

Cons:
1. Currently a bug where the timetable will not give you any scheduled time to stop at a stop so you don’t earn enough points to get a gold medal. 2. Sounds were recorded from the 483 however were stretched so they completely ruin the recording and make the train sound like trash. 3. There are no run sounds on the 483 or at least none I can hear. 4. The water below Ryde Pier is questionable. 5. No red livery for the 483 although I managed to make a branded SWR livery with a few hours work in livery designer. 6. The door animations on the 483 are very bad (they just close really fast). 7. Classic sound bug where the game will sound like you are falling out of a plane when standing up while train is in motion. 8. AI doesn’t drive with lights on

Overall I give this route a 7/10 although there are loads of issues I think it is still a lovely route to have a quick drive. I have had so far a great time playing with this route even with all the bugs. If you are not bothered by a few busg here and there then I recommend this route. Although $25 is a bit steep if you really want this route then get it and a sale won’t be for a bit.

EDIT: I have no idea why it says I have zero hours on this route, lol. I have played this route a lot so…

~ BAZ
